Nigeria decides: Thugs confidently move ballot boxes in Lagos [SEE VIDEO]

A video has emerged on social media showing some thugs confidently moving ballot boxes in Lagos. Though the polling units where the boxes were snatched are yet to be ascertained the thugs were seen moving the boxes without any form of confrontation. While some people that are believed to be voters stood aside and watched, there was no presence of police or other security agents. Nigeria Decides: APC, PDP lose senatorial election in Buhari’s polling unit

The Katsina North senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmad Baba Kaita was defeated at President Muhammadu Buhari’s polling unit, at the Sarkin Yara Ward A, Kofa Baru polling unit (03), Gidan Niyam in Daura local government area of Katsina state. The polling unit was won by Accord Party. Presiding officer, a corp member, Aliyu Abdullahi announced that APC’s candidate, Ahmad Baba Kaita polled 247, Mani Nasarawa (PDP) got 2 and Mohammed Lawal Nalado of the Accord Party 262.

President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Atiku’s polling unit in Yola, Adamawa State by 186 votes to Atiku’s 167 votes. Buhari also defeated Atiku in former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s polling unit in Abeokuta North Local Government. Obasanjo endorsed Atiku in the presidential race. Buhari also won in his Daura polling unit defeating Mr Abubakar by 523 – 3 votes.

Nigeria Decides: Voters protest missing of presidential ballot boxes in Plateau

Voting on Saturday protested at the Plateau Hotel polling unit in Jos over the non-availability of a third box at their polling unit. Some voters who spoke to NAN said that they were not happy about the delay and the incomplete ballot boxes. Mr Silas Ndam, a voter at the polling unit, said that the presidential box was missing and they were told to go on with the voting. “I saw the president voting on television this morning, and there were three boxes before him so why will they bring only two to our units,’’ said Ndam. Another voter, Mrs Hanatu Gimba, said that they were aware of their electoral rights and would not condone any disorganisation. “By reason of electoral education, we all know we are supposed to have three boxes and not two, and we made it clear to the officials that the presidential box was missing and demanded for it,’’ said Gimba. Deborah Isah, a voter, who said that she was at the polling unit as early as 4:00 a.m., said the delay was disheartening and uncalled for....

Nigeria decides: DSS dismisses officer for taking bribe

The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed one of its staff, Jaja Otelemaba, for taking bribe from motorists while on election duty in Ekiti. Mr Peter Afunanya, Public Relations Officer of the Service, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the officer was seen on social media where he was negotiating with a motorist for financial patronage. “The fact is that when the news broke, the Service initiated a line of investigative actions. “These include the search and identification of the said officer; his withdrawal from the duty post and issuance of a memo as applicable to his cadre and rank,” he said. He disclosed that Otelemaba was tried in an orderly room and summarily dismissed in line with the Service’s disciplinary procedures. The spokesman said that the dismissal was in accordance with the Director General of the Service’s commitment to promote discipline in the Service. Presidential Results: Atiku defeats Buhari at Aso Rock polling units

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, at a polling unit in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Atiku scored 525 votes to beat Buhari who got 465 votes at Polling Unit 022 in the Presidential Villa. Also, the PDP won the senatorial poll at the unit with 546 votes while the APC got 477 votes. At another polling units inside the presidential villa, PDP candidate garnered 84 votes, Buhari who ran under the platform of APC trailed with 73. The result of the House of Representatives at the polling unit also showed that the PDP defeated the APC by scoring 521 votes while the opposition party got 464 votes. As Nigerians await official results from Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the major contenders in the 2019 Presidential election are President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar. Father Of Three Arrested For Defiling Underage Girls Claims It Is A Curse

The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 35-year-old man, Clement Onuchukwu, for defiling two girls aged seven and eight years. Onuchukwu of the Kwamba area, Suleja, was arrested following a complaint by the parents of the victims. Northern City News gathered on Sunday that the father of three allegedly lured his victims with N50 to an uncompleted building and had s-x with them several times. The suspect said he gets aroused whenever he saw underage girls in his neighbourhood. He said, “I don’t know what has come over me; each time I see little girls in my area, I get aroused and I would want to have s-x with them regardless of the fact that I am a father of three children. “I have been into this wicked act for more than four years and it looks as if somebody had placed a curse on me; nothing works for me and at times, I felt I have sinned against my destiny.” Onuchukwu would be arraigned in court after investigation.
