Another gun factory uncovered in Benue

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Benue have successfully uncovered yet another site where firearms are being produced in Rivers State. This time, the factory was located at Ikache village in the Oju Local Government region of the state. At the scene, different forms of ammunition which were undergoing manufacturing processes were seized and confiscated. Also, one Orohu Akodi was arrested in the process. Orohu, 37, is said to have been the main manufacturer in the factory who upon interrogation, revealed that he was married and had five kids residing in Lagos. Just over two months ago, officers of the Operation Whirl Stroke equally discovered a gun manufacturing factory in the state. A crime suspect who got rearrested by the police, has disclosed that he went back to kidnapping to raise his lawyer's balance. Apollolos a.k.a Blackie was arrested alongside Daniel Johngbo, Harridon Barryira and Lebara Tobia by the Rivers state police for kidnapping a 67-year-old businesswoman identified only as Obianuju. The kidnap victim was reportedly on her way home from a church in a Toyota Sienna on February 7, 2019, when the gun-wielding kidnappers ambushed her some metres away from her Rumuobiakani residence. The woman who petitioned the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, who directed the Intelligence Response Team of the Force to find the perpetrators of the crime after she was released, was held hostage in a forest for six days by the suspects who collected millions of naira in ransom. NAPTAN reacts to rate of suicide, advises parents on what to do

The National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, have expressed concern over the recent rate of suicide among Nigerian students. In reaction to the rate of suicide, the 2nd Deputy President of NAPTAN, Chief Adeolu Ogunbanjo, advised parents to be on alert and monitor their children so as to prevent such occurrence in their family. “Honestly, it is very sad, very disappointing and yes it is very condemnable. ‘How teacher sent WAEC answer booklet to student’

24 -year-old teacher, Oluwaseun Adegoke, who allegedly sent West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) answer booklet on the internet to a student, on Monday appeared in Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. The police charged Adegoke, who live in Orile-Agege, Lagos, is charged with unlawfully assisting a candidate in the course of an examination. The Police Prosecutor, Insp Innocent Odugbo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 17 at a private school in Agege, Lagos, He said that the defendant scanned a WAEC answer booklet of a student while the examination was still on and sent it on Whatsapp to assist some students. Odugbo said that WAEC got information that the answer booklet of a student was on the internet. “On getting to trace the school, it was discovered that the defendant posted it. “The case was reported and the defendant was arrested,” the prosecutor said. The offence , he said, contravened the provisions of Section 324(3)of the Criminal Law of Lagos State

The institution, he said, belongs to the state government wholly and not any individual, including himself. The governor made the clarification while receiving traditional rulers in the state, led by Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who were on a courtesy visit to his office, on Monday.
