How Church allegedly refused to bury its member because he stopped paying tithe years before he died

A Twitter user said a church refused to bury his colleague's father when he died because the man stopped attending the church and paying tithe 3 years ago.

He added that the church told the deceased's family that they will only bury him on the condition that they pay the tithe he didn't pay in the last three years of his life.

The Twitter user accused the church leaders of hypocrisy and called them "greedy exploitative idiots."

A Magistrate court sitting in Lagos on Monday sentenced Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and her husband Abdulrasheed Bello a.k.a JJC skills to 14 days community service each. The court also directed them to pay a fine of N100,000 each. The magistrate, who also ordered that they should be placed in self-isolation, added that they must compile the names and phone numbers of everyone who attended Bello’s birthday party and submit same to the court. Uzodinma meets Buhari, seeks refund of N32bn ‘spent on FG roads in Imo’

Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state, on Thursday met with President Muhammadu Buhari, seeking his intervention in the refund of over N32 billion his predecessors reportedly spent on federal roads in the state. Speaking with state house correspondents after the meeting with Buhari, Uzodinma said Imo is in “financial distress”. He said the funds, if released, will assist in clearing both salary and pension arrears. He said the consultants he engaged discovered that at least N32 billion was spent on federal roads in the past. Uzodinma said he briefed Buhari on the situation of things he met on the ground in the state, adding that the president listened to him.
