A middle-aged man, who had had to marry as many as three wives but currently lives without one, has taken pleasure in sleeping with his own biological daughter. The suspect, Idowu Owolabi, 45, now in police custody, was arrested on Monday, January 28, 2019, following a complaint lodged at the Oja-Odan Police Division by the victim, alleging her father to have turned her into an instrument of sex. Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday said it had not given up on its belief that Senate President Bukola Saraki was a usurper who needed to vacate his position since he now belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is in minority at the Senate. The party also said it was confident that the forthcoming elections would dash Saraki’s hopes of returning to the Senate as the people of Kwara Central would reject him as their representative at the polls. Saraki was elected as Senate President in June 2015, much to the chagrin of the APC leadership which had pencilled down Senator Ahmed Lawan for the position. Hotel Workers Kills Manager and London Returnee-owner In Lagos

Hotel workers have been accused of killing it's London returnee-owner, Mrs Abimbola Olusola, alongside one Tunji Omikunle the manager of the facility in Lagos.  A gang which included some workers of Etashol Hotel and Suites, located on Budland Street in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State, were accused of drugging, tying up and strangling the deceased. The hotel workers who were accused of killing the London returnee-owner who launched the business in March 2018, had issues with it.  It was learnt that some of the workers defrauded the hotel of millions of naira and two of the workers were reportedly sacked, after the police were invited to look into the matter. 25-year-old man nabbed for allegedly stealing brother’s wife, sister’s pants in Ondo

A 25-year-old man, Ojonugwa Adejoh, was on Wednesday paraded at the police headquarters in Ondo State after he was apprehended for allegedly stealing pants belonging to his brother’s wife as well as that of his younger sister for ritual purposes. Adejoh was arrested alongside a 53-year-old Prophet, Olajide Ogunleye of the Celestial Church of Church, “Ibanujemidopin’ parish, Uso in Owo local government area of Ondo state. Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has declared that the law should be allowed to take its full course, as controversies continue to trail the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen. ACF said as long as Nigeria was concerned, nobody is above the law, and as such Onnoghen could not be an exemption. This was contained in a communiqué it issued after its meeting on Wednesday, which was attended by its BOT members, from all the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Here Are The Most Corrupt Countries In The World Somalia has been rated the most corrupt country in the world, while Denmark is the least, according to a new survey by a corruption watchdog. Berlin-based think-tank Transparency International published its latest Corruption Perceptions Index, which ranks 180 countries and territories based on how corrupt their administrative and political institutions are perceived to be. The report gives gives each country a score from 100 (least corrupt) to 0 (most corrupt). “This year’s Corruption Perceptions Index reveals that the continued failure of most countries to significantly control corruption is contributing to a crisis in democracy around the world,” an accompanying analysis stated. United States dropped out of the top 20 least corrupt nations for the first time since 2011, according to the researchers. Court Grants Melaye Bail On Ground Of Ill-health

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama, Abuja has granted bail to Senator Dino Melaye currently being held in a police health facility in Abuja. In a ruling on an application by Melaye, argued by his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) Justice Yusuf Halilu granted bail to Melaye on health ground. Justice Halilu was of the view the Senator must be healthy to stand trial. He said since the Senator cannot be arraigned on the stretcher or ‎on his hospital bed, he should be allowed on bail to attend to his health. The judge asked him to produce three sureties, one of who must be the Clerk of the National Assembly, who must undertake to produce him when he is to be arraigned in respect of a charge already filed against him. The judge said the other two sureties must be owners of properties within the Abuja metropolis. More details later.

Mixed reactions have trailed the release of a full audio recording of the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, allegedly referring to President Muhammadu Buhari as an ignoramus, who neither takes advice nor reads to acquire information. Reno Omokri, an ex-presidential aide on New Media, made the full audio release available on Sunday in a post on his Twitter page, amid the controversies that trailed an earlier snippet he made public. Recall that in the snippet, Amaechi was reportedly heard saying, “The President does not listen to anybody. Does he even read?” But the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital, New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, has claimed that the audio recording was from 2014 at the height of Amaechi’s fight with Omokri’s former principal, President Goodluck Jonathan. Leaked Audio Catches Ameachi Shading Buhari

All is not well in the APC camp, that much is evident to everyone, but a new leaked audio which has the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, criticising President Buhari, makes things look even worse. The audio which is about 10 seconds long, has Amaechi criticising the President to an unknown party. The clip was posted by staunch Buhari critic, Reno Omokri on Twitter is yet to be verified, but Omokri promised that he has proof to verify the clip. The clip purported had Amaechi saying: “The President is not listening to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write anything you want. The President doesn’t care. Does he read?” Omokri on his part said: “We have more of the secretly recorded audios of Chibuike Amaechi, DG of the Muhammadu Buhari campaign, saying terrible things about Buhari’s government. Minimum Wage: FG meeting with labour leaders inconclusive

The Friday meeting between the federal government and labour unions ended without an agreement. The meeting was organised to prevent the planned January 8 protest by labour unions. The planned protest by the labour unions is to demand that President Muhammadu Buhari submit a bill to the parliament for the implementation of N30,000 minimum wage for workers. While addressing journalists at the end of the Friday meeting, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, said the meeting has been adjourned till 5 p.m. on Monday. ”We are still discussing and will continue on Monday. We need to make further consultations before the issues are concluded,” he said. In his reaction, the labour minister, Chris Ngige, who led the government delegation, said the government has made progress with the workers.
