Balotelli Reacts To Ronaldo’s Awkward Goal Celebration For Juventus

Mario Balotelli gave his views on Cristiano Ronaldo’s behaviour during the Turin derby, a game which he netted the winner from the penalty spot despite a difficult evening for the Juventus man against Torino.

After finding the all-important goal, the 33-year-old Portuguese has been criticised for how he celebrated Juve’s 5,000th Serie A strike. Ronaldo ran past beaten keeper Salvador Ichazo and barge into him.

All appeared well after, with the Portugal legend appearing to say sorry but it didn’t help him escape a booking. The former Real Madrid man got a kicking on social media for his actions – and Balotelli offered his insights.

The Nice striker uploaded Instagram story of the celebration and writing in Italian his caption roughly said: ‘If I had done it, byeeeeeee!’ Mario hinted at double standards to his nine million followers, appearing to say he would have walked had it been him.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri steered clear of commenting on Ronaldo’s reaction after saying he was too nervous to watch the spot kick or the aftermath. “I didn’t see the penalty, as I turned my back to it. I very rarely watch the penalties, to be honest,” he said.

“I had asked the team to make a sacrifice. It was not likely to be a game with lots of goals. When Torino’s tempo fell, we took control of the game.”
