Atiku explains his absence at peace pact signing ceremony

PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has stated the reasons for his absence at the peace accord signing ceremony which held in Abuja earlier today December 11th.

While his main rival, President Buhari was at the ceremony, Atiku and many other presidential candidates were not in attendance. The National Peace Committee, which organised the event, had said invitation was sent to all 73 presidential candidates contesting the 2019 elections.

Atiku's spokesperson, Paul Ibe, this evening tweeted that the former Vice President was not invited to the ceremony.

Ex-Banker jailed 10 years for stealing depositors’ money (photo)

J ustice Abiodun Adesodun of the Ekiti State High Court, has convicted a former cashier officer with Fidelity Bank, Ado branch, Ado Ekiti, Michael Adedayo Ihinolurinjon, and sentenced him to ten years in prison for stealing money from the bank’s vault and diverting customers’ deposits to personal use. Ihinolurinjon was on Thursday, August 15, 2019, found guilty of a two-count charge of stealing in a criminal case filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office. The offence, according to the charge sheet, was contrary to Section 390 (g) of the Criminal Code Laws Cap 16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012. The bank had written a petition to the EFCC alleging that while still a staffer, Ihinolurinjon stole the sum of N8,891,000 (Eight Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety-One Thousand Naira) from its vault, and also failed to remit a total of N7,251,600 (Seven Million, Two Hundred and Fifty-One, Six Hundred Naira) he collected from customers to the bank’s a...

NAF Decorates Kafayat Sanni & Tolulope Arotile As Female Combatant Pilots

The Nigerian Air Force has decorated Kafayat Sanni and Tolulope Arotile as the first female fighter pilot and first female helicopter pilot, respectively. The two flying officers who just completed their training courses in the US and South Africa, were among the 13 officers decorated at a ceremony on Tuesday. Speaking at the event, Sadique Abubakar, chief of air staff said the development marked “another milestone” in the 55-year history of the force. “I am particularly happy because out of the 13 pilots to be winged are two female regular combatant officers,” he said.
