Seun Kuti Calls Out Bola Tinubu Over Arrest Of Omoyele Sowore

S eun Kuti has joined the list of public figures who have called out the government for its continued detention of self-acclaimed activist, Omoyele Sowore. The Grammy award nominee expressed his disappointment during an interview with LindaIkejiTV at the government, particularly the leader of the ruling party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who according to him was famous for his activism days. “It is a shame that an administration with Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu will lock somebody up when he’s the leader of that party that is ruling, for saying Revolution Now, knowing the history of NADECO, the role that he played, and where we all came from, from 1993 till date, I think it was a bit harsh. The only thing I told Sowore was that he needed a bit more time to take people along. You can’t do revolution on the people’s behalf. You have to do your revolution with the people,” he said. Some Of Us Are Born To Give More Love Than We Get – Pastor Fatoyinbo

Senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, has said that some persons are born to give more love than they would ever get in return. Fatoyinbo, in an Instagram post on Friday, advised that people should not be bothered when they are attacked by those they have been a “huge blessing” to. “I think some of us were born to give more love than we will ever see in return,” he said. “Do not be bothered if those who you have been a huge blessing to turn against you because of ingratitude, envy, and Jealousy. Don’t even think about it for a second, don’t let who they are change who you are!” Busola, wife of musician, Timi Dakolo, had in an interview in June accused Pastor Fatoyinbo of raping her while she was a teenager. In a suit filed before the FCT High Court weeks ago, she said the defilement has adversely affected her marital sex life. She, therefore, demanded that Fatoyinbo publishes an apology to her on the front page of at least two national newspapers.

Sowore Fulfils Bail Condition, Awaits DSS Compliance

P ro-democracy campaigner and Convener of RevolutionNowmovement, Omoyele Sowore, has fulfilled the bail conditions set by the Federal High Court in Abuja.  Justice Taiwo Taiwo had on Wednesday ordered the Department of State Services to release Sowore on bail on the condition that he deposits his international passport to the court within 48 hours. On Thursday, Sowore's lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), deposited the passport with the court after completing all necessary documentation. The DSS is now being awaited to comply with the ruling following the satisfaction of the bail condition set. Sowore was arrested in Lagos on August 3, 2019 by operatives of the DSS for calling on Nigerians to pour out to the streets to express their anger at the poor state of governance in the country. Lagos police arrest lovers who stole N38 million health insurance funds and fled to Ghana

T he Lagos State police command recently paraded a couple; one Tunde Ogunseye and his girlfriend Funmilayo Oyelaja, for allegedly hacking into the Federal Government’s National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, account and stealing over N38 million. The lovers, Funmilayo Oyelaja, 38, and Tunde Ogunseye, 42, fled to Ghana after the crime, but were arrested after Ogunseye returned home for the burial of his mother. Oyelaja who worked in the company for 10 years, said she was moved to accounts unit in 2014 and that it was from that time she got involved in the fraud. She claimed she diverted more money but personally received N38million which she transferred to her account, those of her son and sisters instead of the real hospitals. T he former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh,  on Tuesday, September 24th insisted that the Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by Justice O.E. Abang should invite former President Goodluck Jonathan to give evidence in his ongoing trial.  Metuh is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC alongside his company, Destra Investment on seven-count charges, bordering on money laundering to the tune of N400 million, which he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, in 2014 under Sambo Dasuki as national security adviser without justification. C hief Rashidi Ladoja, the former Governor of Oyo state has revealed that former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo was behind his impeachment in 2006 after he opposed his third term agenda.  The impeached Oyo Governor on Tuesday September 24, revealed that Obasanjo threatened to reduce him to “nobody” for rejecting his third term bid and also rejected appeals by prominent Nigerians, including a late Yoruba leader, Pa Emmanuel Alayande, and a former Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Bola Ajibola to suspend the impeachment process. Xenophobia: Fani-Kayode hails Buhari, says South Africa ‘must pay’

F ormer Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the federal government for shunning the World Economic Forum (WEF) holding in South Africa. The government took the decision in response to the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians. The Forum, which kicked off on Wednesday, had no Nigerian delegation in attendance. Other African countries joined Nigeria in boycotting the event. Some of the other African countries that have pulled out of WEF are Rwanda, Malawi and DR Congo. The Nigerian government is exploring possible options, including sanctions against the South African government. Reacting on Thursday, Fani-Kayode tweeted: “I commend the FG and @MBuhari for boycotting the World Economic Forum. “When it comes to the South African matter we must set our differences aside and stand as one. “The FG has taken a good first step but must do far more. South Africa must pay dearly for her insolence and barbarity!”

EFCC confirms fresh probe into NFF over World Cup fund

E conomic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed it is conducting a new investigation into the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF. According to BBCSports, the latest investigation comes on the back of a separate case brought EFCC and one by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel.  The latest wide-ranging investigation is looking into fraud allegations over how sponsorship money meant for the development of football in the country has been stolen. “What I can confirm is that officials of the Nigeria Football Federation are being investigated by the agency,” EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, told BBCSport. It was gathered that the investigation into the NFF will look at allegations of wrongdoing before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The inquiry is focusing on money generated from the NFF’s official sponsors, domestic league’s television sponsorship and payments from a former kit supplier for all the national teams. T wo South African eye witness's confirmed the incident of how a South African Taxi Driver was killed. It was Tanzanian drug dealers in Pretoria that killed the taxi driver that sparked latest xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Speculations that the alleged killer was a Nigerian sparked protest, looting and burning of business centres owned by foreigners. According to a video that surfaced this afternoon, the eyewitness authoritatively confirmed it wasn't a Nigerian or Nigerians that committed the murder. Furthermore, they revealed that even their TV stations said a Nigerian drug dealer killed a taxi driver which triggered this entire madness!
